"Once in a Lifetime" is a 2006 song by Australian country music artist Keith Urban. It was the first single from his album Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing.
On the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart dated for the week of 2 September 2006, "Once in a Lifetime" entered at No. 17, setting what was then a new record for the highest-debuting song in the history of the modern country music charts.[1] The previous record was held by Eddie Rabbitt's "Every Which Way But Loose" and Garth Brooks' "Good Ride Cowboy", both of which debuted at #18 (in 1979 and 2005, respectively).

The song's lyrics reflect the singer's feelings towards his lover, assuring her that she does not need to be afraid to love him ("I know that you're scared, but you've never been this loved"). He also explains to her that he will not give up, because he knows that the love between him and her is a "once in a lifetime love".
The first verse begins softly, with just electric guitar and synthesized drums, with more instruments being added throughout as the song grows louder. Many instruments can be heard throughout the song, including several guitars, a ganjo, piano, and cello.
As listed in liner notes.[2]
